Discover The Chimneys Restaurant

Walking into The Chimneys Restaurant for the first time at 1640 E Beach Blvd, Gulfport, MS 39501, United States, I remember noticing how quickly the place filled up with locals. That’s usually the first sign you’re in the right spot. A server told me they see many repeat guests each week, and after eating there, it made perfect sense. The atmosphere feels relaxed and familiar, the kind of diner where conversations carry from table to table and nobody seems in a hurry to leave.

The menu leans into bold home-style Southern cooking, and it does so confidently. From breakfast plates that arrive steaming hot to hearty lunch specials, the food is rooted in comfort. On one visit, I watched a cook flip omelets with the kind of speed that only comes from years behind the grill. That kind of experience shows up on the plate. The biscuits are fluffy, the gravies rich without being heavy, and the seafood options reflect the Gulf Coast’s influence. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, over 70% of diners prefer restaurants that highlight regional flavors, and this place clearly understands that preference.

One thing that stands out is consistency. I’ve eaten here on busy weekends and quieter weekday mornings, and the quality never slipped. That lines up with what many reviews mention online: dependable portions, familiar flavors, and friendly service. A regular sitting next to me once explained that he drives in from another part of Gulfport because he knows exactly what he’s getting every time. That level of trust doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through repetition, attention to detail, and listening to customer feedback.

From a professional standpoint, diners that survive and thrive in coastal cities often do so by balancing tradition with efficiency. Watching the staff move during the lunch rush was like observing a well-rehearsed routine. Orders were called out clearly, plates moved fast, and tables turned without feeling rushed. Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration has published research showing that smooth service flow directly impacts customer satisfaction, sometimes even more than menu variety. This restaurant seems to apply that principle in real life.

The location itself plays a big role in its appeal. Sitting along Beach Boulevard, it’s an easy stop for both locals and travelers exploring the Mississippi Gulf Coast. After a morning at the beach or a drive along the shoreline, the diner feels like a natural place to refuel. The parking is straightforward, and the dining room layout makes it comfortable for solo diners, families, and small groups alike.

There are a few limitations worth noting. This isn’t the place for experimental cuisine or trendy plating. The focus is clearly on classic dishes done right. For diners seeking innovative or upscale presentations, that might feel limiting. However, for anyone craving reliable comfort food, that focus becomes a strength rather than a drawback.

Reviews often mention the welcoming tone of the staff, and that matched my own experience. Servers remembered repeat customers by name and checked in just enough without hovering. Trust is built in moments like that. The food, the process behind it, and the people serving it all work together, creating a diner that feels rooted in its community and confident in what it offers.

  • The place was highly recommended by a colleague on our business trip. This quaint and charming restaurant is beautifully located right across the beach front coast of Gulfport, Mississippi. For the appetizer, I ordered seafood eggplants. It's baked, had crispy toppings, creamy eggplants, and seafood on the inside. It tastes so good! For my main course, I ordered the triple tail special, lump crabs, and a wild rice on the side. It has a generous slice amount of fish perfectly cooked paired with the delicious creamy lump crabs on the top. The restaurant table setup was nice with fresh, colorful flowers on a flower base. The restaurant is clean with large windows for one to appreciate the wooded outside, and the view of the ocean front can be visible at the restaurant side porch . The service was good, and the price of food is affordable. I highly recommend this place.

  • The Chimneys Restaurant was the perfect wedding reception venue! From start to finish, the team was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests and wishes. The setting is absolutely beautiful, the combination of indoor and outdoor spaces created the ideal backdrop for our celebration. Whether it was the charming interior or the stunning outdoor views, every part of the venue added to the magic of the day. The food was absolutely incredible, our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was. The staff was professional, attentive, and made sure the entire event flowed seamlessly. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate our daughter and son-in-laws big day. If you're looking for a venue that combines beauty, amazing service, and unforgettable food, The Chimneys is it!

  • My family has frequented this restaurant many times over the years. It’s well worth the drive from Ocean Springs. I would venture to say The Chimney’s is the best restaurant on the MS Gulf Coast! The fried shrimp is one of my personal favorites, but you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu in my opinion.

  • My favorite place to sit at the bar and have a old fashioned "fashioned" as they call it, made with Old Soul small batch bourbon and it's just right. Love the crab claws fried and the gumbo is the best on the coast in my opinion. Say yes to the bread and ask if they have the bread pudding before you order drinks because it runs out fast. Sit at the bar and you're bound to see someone you know or meet someone you're glad to now know....and the daily special 100% always.

  • Came here, honestly because it was walking distance from our hotel, and it looked interesting. The Gumbo, Godchaeux Salad, fried oysters, blackened redfish and key lime were outstanding. Pricing was reasonable and exceptional for the food served. Service was timely and excellent. I will return.

  • ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Chimneys Restaurant – Gulfport, Mississippi As a live caricature artist, I’ve had the pleasure of working at The Chimneys twice now — most recently during Cruisin’ the Coast. Imagine arriving for a wedding and discovering one of the biggest festivals of the year happening all around you! Thankfully, despite the crowds, I had no trouble getting to the venue. From the moment I arrived (an hour early), I could tell I was in for a treat. The staff was in full motion — at least 20 to 30 people buzzing around, perfectly organized, discussing service flow and setup. The professionalism was impressive. The venue itself is stunning: right across from the water, with twinkling string lights, a wraparound porch, and a spacious lawn where the DJ had guests dancing under the stars. There’s ample room both indoors and out, so even if weather doesn’t cooperate, the celebration can go on beautifully. What truly stood out, though, was the service. The team checked on me multiple times throughout the night — making sure I had water and even bringing me a full plate of food. I often include a vendor-meal clause in my contract, but they went above and beyond and offered me the same menu as the guests. I chose the filet, and it was hands-down the best vendor plate I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious — tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Between the gorgeous coastal setting, the white-glove service, and the incredible food, The Chimneys easily earns a perfect score from me. I’d happily return here for a special occasion — in fact, I’m already eyeing Valentine’s Day dinner! Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Highly recommend this gem for weddings, anniversaries, and any event where you want a truly memorable experience.

  • Water view. Excellent atmosphere. We choose to sit at a table outside on the front porch. They were out of Redfish and didn't tell us until we were ready to order it. The tuna steak was not on the lunch menu. Settled for the special of the day. That was disappointing to not be able to order what I wanted. Food was ok. Probably should have gone with the blackened Redfish even with substituted fish. Overall experience was just ok. Would give it another shot based on location, view & atmosphere
